Here are some of the most Frequently Asked Questions I receive about Blissful Cycles.
WHAT IS MENSTRUAL CYCLE AWARENESS?
There are 4 phases of the Menstrual Cycle, with different energetics and ways to support yourself. Ovulation is a great time to express yourself, whereas Menstruation is a call inwards to rest. The Follicular Phase and Luteal Phase are transitions, with potent medicine to harness. Learn how to work with these energies to support yourself, ease PMS symptoms, & live a more blissful life.
WHAT IS FERTILITY AWARENESS?
Fertility Awareness is the practice of tracking fertility markers as a way to prevent pregnancy naturally, support conception, and connect with your body. Learn how to track your fertile/infertile cervical fluid and basal body temperature to determine your fertile window. This also supports the practice of Menstrual Cycle Awareness.
WHAT DO THE MOON AND THE SEASONS HAVE TO DO WITH ALL OF THIS?
We are intricately connected to the Moon and Mother Earth. The energetics of the Moon and Seasons reflect those of the Menstrual Cycle. Our modern way of life has disconnected us from this, but when you remember that each phase is all part of a cycle, you can harness and live by inner wisdom, and in reverence for cyclical living.
WHAT ARE SOME EMBODIMENT PRACTICES I WILL LEARN?
Yoga, Breath & Meditation will be included as ways to connect to the Womb, Body & Soul. These practices will support you in moving stagnant energy and grounding into the present moment. You will also learn practices I use in preparation and support of Menstruation to ease cramps like what teas to drink, how to do a yoni steam, how I create sacred space to honor my Cycle, and so more!
I DON’T HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH YOGA, BREATH & MEDITATION. WILL I BE ABLE TO KEEP UP?
My intention is to make all the embodiment practices as accessible as possible. I have been teaching yoga for 10 years, with a primary focus on getting back to the basics. In the weekly Blissful Yoga classes, we move slowly and with intention. Take it at your own pace. This is a great practice to learn to listen to your body.
Breath practices will be simple, becoming a way to connect to the present moment at any time. Meditation may be challenging if your mind is always racing, but the intention is to bring awareness to the thoughts rather than try to control or stop them. All of this is called a practice, because you’re always learning, always practicing. It becomes easier, intuitive, and liberating to connect to yourself in these ways.
I’M STILL ON HORMONAL BIRTH CONTROL. CAN I STILL JOIN BLISSFUL CYCLES?
Absolutely! What you will learn in Blissful Cycles is what I wish I had known when I was on the Pill for 16 years. You will learn how to prevent pregnancy naturally by tracking your fertility markers, so when you're ready to come off birth control, you know how to support yourself.
HOW CAN BLISSFUL CYCLES SUPPORT MY CONCEPTION JOURNEY?
By learning to track your fertility markers, you're able to determine if you are in fact ovulating, when your fertile, and if your luteal phase is long enough to support implantation. Engage your partner in the practice of Cycle Awareness, and your relationship will transform!
I’M CURRENTLY PREGNANT. HOW CAN BLISSFUL CYCLES SUPPORT ME?
Since the 4 phases of the Menstrual Cycle coincide with the energetics of the phases of the Moon, you will learn how to align and track your energy alongside the Moon Cycles. The other information you learn will also support you when your Cycle returns Postpartum.
I’M CURRENTLY POSTPARTUM, BUT MY CYCLE HASN’T RETURNED YET. CAN I STILL JOIN BLISSFUL CYCLES?
Absolutely! You will learn what to look for in your body to determine when the hormonal shift occurs, and how to prevent pregnancy naturally. You will also learn how to tend to yourself as a menstruating mother when your Cycle does return, and how to pass this wisdom onto your children.
