How do you integrate and complete the Rite of Passage from Maiden to Mother?
In this Blog, I share about the 3 Stages of the Rite of Passage, how they relate to Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum, and how Birth Storytelling and the Closing of the Bones Ceremony supports the completion of the Rite of Passage through Community Support and social recognition.
Postpartum Care is for every Mother or Grandmother, whether you’re 3 days or 30+ years postpartum, because postpartum isn’t just the First 40 Days, it’s lifelong.
It can take years for your body to recover from pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, especially if you never received Postpartum Care. And no matter how old your babies are, you will never not be a mother again.

The 5 Essentials of Postpartum Care are Rest, Warmth, Body Care, Nourishment, and Community Support. In this Blog, I share about the 4 Pillars (Rest, Warmth, Body Care, and Nourishment), and how all of that rests on the Foundation of Community Support.
May we collectively remember we are worthy of receiving compassionate, nurturing care, and may we open ourselves up to receive the support of others.
A testimonial guest blog written by Luan Woods, a Postpartum Care client of Brittany’s.
Luan shares vulnerably and authentically about her experience of Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum Care, speaking from her lived experience and why she is such an advocate for Postpartum Care.
The health and wellness of a Mother dictates the health and wellness of her family. This impacts the health and wellness of the community, with the ripple effect flowing to the collective. Postpartum Care focuses on Rest, Warmth, Nourishment, Body Care and Community Support. This care is intended to support long-term health and wellness, not just the immediate or more obvious early Postpartum time. It is never too late to break the intergenerational cycle of depletion, to repair and heal the body and Womb through receiving Postpartum Care.
